What is a lithium inverter battery?
Halovolt makes lithium inverter batteries and the inverters to run them, for homes, shops and offices in India. Shakti batteries are LFP (lithium iron phosphate) replacements for tubular lead-acid: the Shakti 12 and Shakti 12 Plus are 12V batteries with 100Ah and 200Ah, and the Shakti 24 and Shakti 24 Plus do the same for 24V inverters. The Prakash 1100 and Prakash 2200 are pure sine wave inverters built for lithium batteries, and the Urja puts a 1100VA inverter and a 100Ah lithium battery in one wall-mounted unit. Every Shakti battery has a smart BMS with a Bluetooth app and a 5-year replacement warranty.

What size inverter and battery does a home need?
Add up what has to keep running in a power cut, then pick an inverter that can carry it and a battery that lasts the hours you need. Usable backup is about 80% of a battery's rated energy. Halve the load and the backup roughly doubles.
A 1BHK flat with two fans, four LED lights, a TV and a Wi-Fi router draws about 250 W. The Prakash 1100 with a Shakti 12 runs it for about 4 hours, and so does the Urja on its own.
A 2BHK home with three fans, six LED lights, a TV and a router draws about 400 W. The Prakash 1100 with a Shakti 12 Plus gives about 5 hours.
A 3BHK home that adds a fridge and more lights and fans draws about 750 W. That suits a 24V system: the Prakash 2200 with a Shakti 24 gives about 2.5 hours, and with a Shakti 24 Plus about 5 hours.

Inverter for a shop or small office
A shop with LED lights, two fans, a billing computer, a printer and a Wi-Fi router draws about 400 W. The Prakash 2200 with a Shakti 24 runs it for about 5 hours, and leaves room to add a fan or a display fridge later.
A small office with four computers, eight LED lights, four fans and a router draws about 800 W. The Prakash 2200 with a Shakti 24 Plus gives about 5 hours. Both Prakash inverters give a pure sine wave output and switch over in 20 milliseconds.
Lithium vs tubular lead-acid inverter batteries
A Shakti lithium battery is rated for 4,000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge, which is more than 10 years of daily power cuts, and its backup time holds steady through them. It takes up to 100 A of charging current, so it recharges as fast as your inverter's charger allows: about 4 hours for a 100Ah battery on a Prakash inverter's 25 A charger. There is no acid to spill, no water to top up and no gas to vent, so it can sit indoors next to the inverter.
A tubular battery costs less to buy, but it usually needs replacing several times over the life of one lithium battery. Our lithium vs tubular inverter battery guide compares them by brand.
Will a Shakti battery work with my inverter?
Shakti batteries work with standard 12V and 24V home inverters sold in India. If your inverter has a lithium or Li-ion battery setting, select it. If it does not, send us the model number and our support team will confirm before you order. The battery's BMS protects the cells from overcharge, deep discharge, short circuit and overheating whichever inverter charges it.
Inverter & UPS FAQs
What is the price of a lithium inverter battery?
Shakti lithium inverter batteries cost ₹17,950 for the 12V 100Ah Shakti 12, ₹34,400 for the 12V 200Ah Shakti 12 Plus, ₹35,500 for the 24V 100Ah Shakti 24 and ₹69,900 for the 24V 200Ah Shakti 24 Plus, including GST.
What is the price of a lithium inverter for home?
The Prakash 1100 (1100VA, 12V) costs ₹10,500 and the Prakash 2200 (2200VA, 24V) costs ₹15,500, including GST. The Urja, a 1100VA inverter with a built-in 100Ah lithium battery, costs ₹28,800.
Which inverter is best for a shop or small office?
For most shops and small offices, a 24V inverter. A shop with LED lights, two fans, a billing computer, a printer and a Wi-Fi router draws about 400 W, and the Prakash 2200 with a Shakti 24 runs it for about 5 hours. A small office with four computers draws about 800 W and gets about 5 hours from the Prakash 2200 with a Shakti 24 Plus. Our battery backup calculator works it out for your own appliances.
How many hours of backup does a 100Ah lithium inverter battery give?
The Shakti 12 (12.8V, 100Ah) gives about 2.5 hours at 400 W and about 5 hours at 200 W. A 400 W load is roughly three fans, six LED lights, a TV and a Wi-Fi router.
Can I replace my tubular battery with a lithium battery without changing the inverter?
Yes, in most cases. The Shakti 12 and Shakti 12 Plus replace the battery of a 12V home inverter, and the Shakti 24 and Shakti 24 Plus replace the pair of batteries in a 24V inverter. Set the inverter to lithium mode if it has one, or ask our support team to confirm your model.
How long does a lithium inverter battery last?
Shakti batteries are rated for 4,000 charge cycles at 80% depth of discharge, which is more than 10 years of one full cycle a day. Each one carries a 5-year replacement warranty.
Is a lithium inverter battery safe to keep indoors?
Yes. Shakti batteries use LFP (lithium iron phosphate) cells, one of the most thermally stable lithium chemistries, in a sealed IP54 case. There is no acid and no gassing, and the BMS cuts off on overcharge, deep discharge, short circuit and high temperature.
