What is a lithium solar battery for home?
Halovolt lithium solar batteries store what your rooftop panels make during the day for the evening and for power cuts. The Surya 51 is a 51.2V, 100Ah LiFePO4 battery (5.12 kWh) for hybrid solar inverters. It talks to the inverter over CAN or RS485 and mounts on a wall or in a 19-inch rack. The Surya 48 is the 48V version for systems set up for a 54V charge. For smaller 12V and 24V solar inverters, the Shakti batteries work as solar batteries too. Every Surya pack is rated for 6,000 cycles and carries a 5-year replacement warranty.

How much solar battery storage does a home need?
Add up the power you use after sunset and during power cuts, then multiply by the hours you want covered. One Surya 51 stores 5.12 kWh, of which about 4.1 kWh is usable, so a home drawing 1 kW through the evening gets about 4 hours from one pack and about 8 hours from two. Up to 16 packs connect in parallel, so storage can grow with the home.

Surya 51 or Surya 48?
The Surya 51 and Surya 48 both store about 5 kWh and fit the same wall bracket and rack. The Surya 51 has 16 cells in series, a nominal 51.2V and a 57.6V charge voltage, which is what most current hybrid solar inverters expect in their lithium setting. The Surya 48 has 15 cells, a nominal 48V and a 54V charge voltage, for inverters, PCUs and rectifiers that cannot be set above 54V.

Do you need a hybrid solar inverter?
A solar battery charges through a hybrid solar inverter or a solar PCU, which charges it from your panels and runs your home from it. The Surya packs talk to the inverter over CAN or RS485, so the inverter reads the battery's state of charge directly. Send us your inverter model and we will confirm the communication protocol before you order. When you choose a battery for a solar inverter, match its voltage first: most current hybrid inverters expect 48V or 51.2V.

Yes. Up to 16 Surya packs can run in parallel, which is about 82 kWh. Add packs of the same model as your needs grow.
Can a solar battery be mounted on the wall?
Yes. Every Surya pack comes with a wall-mount bracket and rack ears, so it can hang on a wall or sit in a standard 19-inch rack (3U).
